Medical Doctor - Radiation Oncology

About Me

Dattoli developed an interest in pure sciences as a child in Poughkeepsie, New York. He wanted to use his interest in science to benefit humanity while studying marine biology at the University of California, Berkeley. He returned to Poughkeepsie, excelled at Vassar College's biochemistry program, and graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine (now the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai) with a medical doctorate in 1984.

During his medical training, Dattoli was particularly interested in non-surgical cancer treatment options. He focused his efforts on advancing treatment options for prostate cancer through brachytherapy after seeing success with other types of cancer. More than 30 years ago, Dattoli was recruited from Memorial Sloan Cancer Center by Dr. Richard Sorace, who encouraged the young doctor to relocate to Tampa and co-found a brachytherapy practice.

Dr. Dattoli and Sorace formed a strong partnership that provided non-surgical prostate cancer treatment options. They later established the Dattoli Cancer Center in Sarasota after moving their practice there. Dattoli holds medical licenses in Florida, California, and New York, as well as American College of Radiology board certification in Radiation Oncology.
